Arthur Rosenhammer, who later drove for the BMW sports car team, built a 750cc Kleinstrennwagen using a BMW engine which was them modified for 500cc racing. The chassis was a light tubular frame with Volkswagen Beetle front suspension, rear suspension, transaxle and wheels. A second car was built for Hans Luck.

For some reason which we don't understand, the car was christened the Flying Pencil in England!
