Jean Bernardet's French 500
had a rear mounted, single cam, Norton engine and independent suspension by
parallel
links. The looks were distinctive due to a large open radiator grill which was completely
unnecessary on a rear engine car. Jean achieved some success on hill climbs.
Later,
Jean built a series
of more conventional cars featuring wishbone and rubber band suspension.
