Delafoss originally built the DVD (Delfosse Versuch Duesseldorf) car for 600cc low cost racing in Germany in 1947. It was front engined and converted to run as a 500 with a Zundapp engine. It was known as the "Flying Saucer" due to the all enveloping body.
