The Leston Special was based on a J.B.S modified by Ray Martin to swing axle rear suspension for Les Leston. Les ran the car with distinctive white wall tyres and had a number of wins during 1952 and '53 before turning to Cooper for '54. Just to confuse things, Les' Cooper Mk V is also sometimes referred to as the Leston Special.
