David Brake was a 500 regular from Reading and  achieved some creditable results including second in the Junior Final at Brands in September 1950 and second in the Open Challenge Final in October as well as a number of placings in heats.

Tragically, David became the first person to be killed in Formula 3 when his Cooper rolled at Boreham on the 11th August 1951.
