Stan Coldham

Stan Coldham was one of the first customers for the Cooper Mk II and one of the most regular competitors through 1948, '49 and '50. Generally well placed and occasionally on the podium, some notable results being a FTD at Bo'ness in June 1948, third place at Brough in July and third again at Dunholme Lodge in October. For 1949, second at Brough in April, a win at Goodwood in Easter, beating "Curly" Dryden and Don Parker and at Silverstone in June. After this, he sold the Mk II to Bill Whitehouse and moved to a Mk III to take third at Goodwood in September to Peter Collins and a win in the scratch race at Brough in October beating Stirling Moss. At the Goodwood Easter meeting of 1950, he beat the JBS of Alf Bottoms to second, behind Dryden, followed by a second in the Production Car Final at the Brands Hatch Inaugural Event. Stan also travelled quite well with a third in Brussels in May 1949, a third at Montlhery in April '50, second at Aix a month later and second in Oslo in June.
