Dick was a regular competitor in his Emeryson but switched to a Cooper, presumably after damaging his car badly in an off at Paddock Hill Bend, Brands Hatch in July 1955. In the Cooper he won the Consolation Final at Mallory Park in August 1956 and finished second to Don Parker at Mallory a year later.
