Alan or "Hutchy" as he was sometimes know was a Dutch airline pilot who started in a Beels of countryman Lex Beels before switching to Coopers. Often in the points but only occasionally on the podium, his career ended after touching the back of Ken Tyrrell's car at Kristianstad in 1955.
