For the 2009 meeting and prize giving, we returned to the the British Motor Heritage Museum at Gaydon. The formal business was dealt with a highly efficient manner with the committee being re-elected en mass and in one case in absentia! Membership continues to grow and the club's finances are in good shape so there was a debate about positive ways in which some of the funds could be used.

A proposal to arrange some indoor karting early in the new year to keep us all sharp, was adopted. The competition secretaries were both upbeat. Race grids were slightly down but the racing had been excellent and the hills had seen the largest turnout for many years so there is plenty to look forward to in 2010. Provisional calendars for next year are coming together and will be published shortly. While the on track activities are dear to our heart, the off track atmosphere had been superb with competitors helping each other whenever misfortune struck and plenty of friendly paddock social gatherings. The Chairman gave special thanks to all those who hard worked so hard to make things happen.

James Fack

The committee show their unbridled enthusiasm at being re-elected.

After lunch, we were treated to a highly informative talk by James Fack, the topic being the development of the mid engined racing car and the role of the Freikaiserwagen in this step change in car design. This was followed by the prize giving and a picture and video show by Nigel Ashman to bring a most enjoyable day to a close.
